Abissnet in Unionnet – Western Union
New service at Unionnet – Western Union locations network. You can easily find Abissnet resubscriptions for Internet, IP TV and Telephony anywhere in Albania.
Prevention of Anti-Money Laundering and Terrorism Funding
In the framework of the company annual program on periodic trainings on AML/Terrorism Funding Prevention and Anti-Fraud, UFT organized the workshop on The Detection of Suspicious Events in Western Union service. The workshop was held on 13.12.2019 at the company premises. UFT employees, general managers and employees from Western Union agencies participated in the event.
The following were among the mainly discussed topics: introduction to the latest legal framework on AML/TF; The role of the responsible structure; the agent role on indicating suspicious activity; Identifying and monitoring risk at locations; Anti-terrorism measures and WU practices; Protecting customers from fraud.
MOGO ALBANIA
UFT grows the service range with the cooperation with Mogo Albania. Throughout Unionnet – Western Union locations you can pay the Loan Installments for your car, financed by Mogo Albania.

Western Union in cooperation with UFT organized the Final Event for VIP Program 2016. Thirty locations from Albania, Kosovo and Macedonia participated in the regional program during 2016. Locations with the best performance and the highest growth during this year were awarded special prizes and invited to celebrate their achievements in the Final Event and Gala Dinner organized for this occasion.The event took place on November, 19th at The Plaza Tirana hotel in Tirana, Albania. Representatives from WU global team, Union Financiar Tiranë, Financial Union Pristina, Financial Union Skopje, and agents & employees from the winning locations participated in the event.

BALKANS JOINT WATER CONFERENCE AND EXHIBITION
UFT participates in the 4th Balkans Joint Conference and Exhibition organized by SHUKALB and SHUKO on 2-4 November 2016, at Expo City Albania.
The Balkans Joint Conference and Exhibition is a major knowledge sharing and networking event in the Western Balkans water sector. With an audience of over 450 participants from the Greater Balkan Region, the Conference offers a platform where water professionals, policymakers, and business professionals from the sector gather and discuss issues of concern, exchange information, and share experiences in an effort to help the further development of the sector in the Greater Balkan Region.

TERRORISM FUNDING PREVENTION IN WESTERN UNION SERVICE
Union Financiar Tiranë organized the workshop on Terrorism Funding Prevention in Western Union service. The workshop was held on March 11th , 2016 at Tirana International Hotel. Participants from 48 Unionnet-Western Union locations, UFT staff, and high level representatives from Western Union Global Team, Ministry of Finance, and the Bank of Albania attended the event. Legal framework, particular details and other issues associated with the Terrorism Funding process were discussed and analyzed among participants. The agent role in preventing such cases was emphasized and explained through a detailed procedure introduction they must follow when threats appear in their location daily transactions. Case studies on Terrorism Funding transactions based on true events were also introduced and analyzed.
ANTI-MONEY LAUNDRY AND TERRORISM FUNDING PREVENTION
Union Financiar Tiranë organized again the Anti-Money Laundry and Terrorism Funding Prevention (AML/TF) workshop. The workshop was held on November 27th, 2015 at Tirana International Hotel. Participants from 48 Unionnet-Western Union locations, UFT staff, representatives from the Ministry of Finance and the Bank of Albania discussed and analyzed the threats and procedures to follow in practice when they doubt such cases are present in Western Union transactions.

AML/TF
Union Financiar Tiranë, in addition to the ongoing trainings on Anti-Money Laundry and Terrorism Funding Prevention (AML/TF) organized a workshop on Legislation Practical Implementation on AML/TF through study cases on Western Union Services. The workshop was held on May 22nd, 2015 in the company premises. UFT employees, Unionnet-Western Union locations administrators and operators, and guests from the Ministry of Finance as the authority in charge participated in the event. Mr. Aleks Marku, Head of Legislation, and Mrs. Sabiela Seitaj – Analyst at AML General Directory represented the MoF in this training.
Participants were introduced to the legal framework of AML/TF, Terrorism Funding process and its special details compared to AML, anti-terrorism provisions undertaken for Western Union services, requirements that ensure vigilance during this process, etc.
New outbound tariff plan
New outbound tariff plan – UFT updates the tariff plan for outbound transfers in euro from Albania to Italy, Greece, France, Germany, USA and UK. The new tariff plan is valid from April 8th, 2015.
OSHEE
Since February, electrical power bills can be paid immediately in all Unionnet – Western Union agencies in Albania, providing also all the facilities related to this service, like information on their debt to OSHEE, stamp on OSHEE booklet, etc.
